Apolipoprotein B (ApoB)

Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) is a protein that is attached to molecular “boats” known as lipoproteins. These lipoproteins circulate in the blood and carry many things, most notably cholesterol. The levels of ApoB are thus indicative of the amount of cholesterol carrying lipoproteins in the blood, as opposed to metrics like LDL cholesterol, which measures the amount of cholesterol in these lipoproteins.
