D-Dimer Quantitative Test

The D-Dimer Quantitative Test measures the level of D-dimer, a protein fragment produced when blood clots are formed and broken down in the body. Elevated D-dimer levels may indicate increased clotting activity and can be associated with conditions such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), or other inflammatory and thrombotic processes. This test is commonly used to help evaluate suspected blood clotting disorders, assess clotting risk, and support clinical decision-making alongside symptoms, imaging, and other laboratory findings.
