Insulin

Insulin is the primary hormone involved in the metabolism of glucose. Elevated levels while fasting are indicative of impaired glucose metabolism, as tissues do not respond to insulin and thus more needs to be secreted. Poor glucose metabolism impairs our ability to generate energy, and thus can contribute to symptoms like fatigue and brain fog. High insulin levels are highly predictive of developing age related diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease.
